A. COLLEGE LIBRARIAN

Job Summary:
The College Librarian shall be responsible to the Provost for the administration of the College Library, and coordinating the Library services in the teaching unit of the College. The candidates for the position is expected to among other responsibilities; preform overall library policy, contacts and liaising with other departments on book requirements, prepare library budgets, give professional advise on library matters and perform any other functions which the Council or Provost may so direct.
Qualifications:
The Candidates for the post of College Librarian must possess the followings:
A good Bachelor’s Degree with Master in Library Science (MILS) from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least 15 years cognate work experience in higher institution, with registration with Professional Library body: Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), or a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Library and Information Science with at least twelve (12) years cognate work experience with evidence of registration with Professional Library Body; and
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT);
  • Present evidence of sound human relations
  • Professional competence, industrial integrity, efficient management of human and material resources;
  • Must be Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years in an institution of higher learning.
  • Must not be above the age of Fifty-nine (59) as at the time of taking up the appointment; and
  • Candidate must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals equivalent to that of a Chief lecturer.
Other Requirements
Vision and Mission Statement: The candidate must submit in clear terms, in not more than two (2) pages his/ her Vision and Mission statement for the College in the next 5 years.
Tenure of Appointment: The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years only, beginning from the effective date of appointment.
Salary: Consolidated salary of the Federal Colleges of Education will be applicable.
Condition of Service: The successful candidates will be entitled to the privileges and benefits of Principal Officers as specified in the terms and conditions of service for Staff of Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria and other conditions which may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the College in accordance with the Colleges of Education Act, and in consultation with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).

B. ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS

THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS EXIST IN THE FOLLOWING SCHOOLS AND DEPARTMENTS
1.0 Chief Lecturer (CONPCASS 09):
The candidate must possess a good doctorate degree in relevant field(s) from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least 15 years of teaching/research in a higher institution, in the following Departments: Geography, Political Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Fine and Applied Arts, Metal Works, and Wood Works.
2.0 Principal Lecturer (CONPCASS 08):
The candidate must possess a good doctorate degree in relevant field from a recognized institution with at least 12 or 9 years of teaching/research in a higher institution in the following Departments: Geography, Political Science, Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Physics, Business Education (OTM), Fine and Applied Arts, Metal Works, Wood Works and Primary Education Studies.
3.0 Senior Lecturer (CONPCASS 07):
The candidate must possess a good doctorate degree in relevant field from a recognized institution with at least 9 or 6 years of teaching / research in a higher institution, in the following Departments: Geography, Political Science, Social Studies, Chemistry, Physics, Business Education (OTM), Fine and Applied Arts, Metal Works, and Wood Works.
4.0 Lecturer I (CONPCASS 05):
The candidate must possess a good First and Master Degree or doctorate in relevant field from a recognized institution with at least 6 years of teaching / research in a higher institution in the following Departments: Geography, Political Science, Social Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Education Studies (OTM), Fine and Applied Arts, Metal Works, Wood Works, and Primary Education Studies.
5.0 Lecturer II (CONPCASS 03):
The candidate must possess a good First and Master Degree or doctorate in relevant field from a recognized institution with at least 6 years of teaching / research in a higher institution in the following Departments: Geography, Political Science, Chemistry, Physics, Fine and Applied Arts, Metal Works, Wood Works and Primary Education Studies.
6.0 Lecturer III (CONPCASS 02):
The candidate must possess a good First and Master Degree in relevant field from a recognized institution with at least 3 years of teaching / research in a higher institution in the following Departments: Geography, Political Science, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics Physics, Business Education Studies (OTM), Fine and Applied Arts, Metal Works, Wood Works, Education Technology, Early Childhood Care Education, and Primary Education Studies.
7.0 Assistant Lecturer (CONPCASS 01):
Candidate must possess a good bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division (2/2) in relevant discipline plus NYSC/Discharged Certificate. Candidate must be Computer Literate and have Education Qualification in the following Departments: Geography, Political Science, Social Studies, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Agricultural Science, Business Education (OTM), Metal Works, Wood Works. Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE), and Primary Education Studies.
NOTE:
i. All candidates seeking appointments to the Lecturer Cadre must acquire teaching qualifications in addition to the academic qualifications.
ii. Minimum entry requirement for Lecturer Cadre is Second Class (Lower Division).
iii. Evidence of registration with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is compulsory.
iv. Masters’ degrees acceptable for appointment for Lecturers are Academic Masters’ degrees in core teaching subjects.
v. Certificate of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
vi. Evidence of Proficiency in ICT.
vii. Applicants who are physically challenged should state the nature of their disabilities.

C. NON TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. REGISTRY DEPARTMENT
Administrative Cadre
  • DEPUTY REGISTRAR (CONTEDISS 15): The candidate must possess a good first degree in Arts or Social Sciences or Management Sciences from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least 18 years of cognate experience; or Master’s Degree from a recognised institution of higher learning with at least 15 years cognate experience, or a Doctorate Degree with at least 12 years cognate experience. He/she must be a registered member with one of the recognized Professional bodies. Must be Assistant Deputy Registrar on CONTEDISS 14.
  • SENIOR CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY (CONTEDISS 08): The candidate must possess a good HND in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least three years of cognate experience and must be a registered member with one of the recognized Professional bodies. He/she must possess NYSC/Discharged Certificate, and must be Computer Literate.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER II (CONTEDISS 07): The candidate must possess a good first degree in Arts or Social Sciences or Management Sciences from a recognized institution of higher learning plus NYSC/Discharge Certificate, and must be Computer Literate.
  • HIGHER EXECUTIVE OFFICER (G.D) (CONTEDISS 07): The candidate must possess a good HND in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution of higher learning plus NYSC/Discharge Certificate, and must be a Computer Literate.
  • INFORMATION OFFICER II (CONTEDISS 07): The candidate must possess a good first degree in Mass Communication, English Language or any of the Arts or Social Sciences or from a recognized institution of higher learning plus NYSC/Discharge Certificate, and must be a Computer Literate.
  • CLERICAL OFFICER (CONTEDISS 03): Candidate must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate/ West African School Certificate/ General Certificate Education (O/L) or its equivalent with four credits obtained at one sitting or five credits at two sittings including English Language.
2. INFORMATION COMMUNICATION UNIT (ICT CENTRE)
  • HIGHER DATA PROCESSING OFFICER (CONTEDISS 07): Candidate must possess a good Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies or Data Processing from a recognized institution of higher learning plus NYSC/Discharge Certificate.
  • ASSISTANT DATA PROCESSING OFFICER (CONTEDISS 05): Candidate must possess a good National Diploma in Computer Studies or Data Processing from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least two years of cognate experience.
3. SCIENCE LABORATORY
  • HIGHER TECHNOLOGIST (CONTEDISS 07): The candidate must possess a good HND from a recognized institution of higher learning in relevant field, plus NYSC/Discharge Certificate, and must be a Computer Literate.
4. AUDIT
  • CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR (CONTEDISS 13): The candidate must possess a good first degree in Accounting/Finance or its equivalent, and current membership with ICAN, ANAN or ACCA, ICMA, CIPFA, ICPA (obtained in U.S.A, Canada, or U.K) with at least twelve (12) years cognate experience. He must possess leadership skills and be proficient in the use of Computer. He must have attended and passed an advanced Financial Management Course.
  • HIGHER EXECUTIVE OFFICER (AUDIT) (CONTEDISS 07): Candidate should possess a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy or its equivalent from a recognized Institution or ND in the relevant field with at least five (5) years cognate experience.
5. BURSARY
  • SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (CONTEDISS 9): Candidate should possess a minimum of Master Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent, and current membership with ICAN, ANAN or ACCA, ICMA, CIPFA, ICPA (obtained in U.S.A, Canada, or U.K) with at least six (6) years cognate experience. He must be proficient in the use of Computer.
  • HIGHER EXECUTIVE OFFICER (ACCOUNT) (CONTEDISS 07): Candidate should possess a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy or Financial studies or Business administration with accountancy subject its equivalent from a recognized Institution or Associate member of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administration in Accountancy.
  • HIGHER STORE OFFICER (ACCOUNT) (CONTEDISS 07): Candidate should possess HND in Business Studies, Purchasing and Supply, or ND in the relevant field with at least five (5) years cognate experience, Intermediate Certificate in Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or its equivalent.
  • ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER (ACCOUNTS) (CONTEDISS 05): Candidate should possess a National Diploma in Business Studies or Accountancy from a recognized Institution of higher learning.
6. LIBRARY
  • HIGHER LIBRARY OFFICER (CONTEDISS 07): Candidate must possess a good HND in Library Studies from a recognized Institution of higher learning plus NYSC/Discharged Certificate.
  • ASSISTANT LIBRARY OFFICER (CONTEDISS 05): Candidate must possess a good National Diploma in Library Studies or Assistant Library Officer (ALO) or its equivalent from a recognized Institution of higher learning.
7. WORKS AND SERVICES DEPARTMENT
  • SENIOR ARCHITECT (CONTEDISS 09): Candidate must possess a good Bachelor and Masters degree in Architecture from a recognized institution, and has been provisionally registered with ARCON with a minimum three years cognate experience.
  • SENIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL) (CONTEDISS 09): Candidate must possess a good bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and registrable with COREN plus NYSC Discharge Certificate with at least five (5) years post qualification experience or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • QUANTITY SURVEYOR II (CONTEDISS 08): Candidate must possess a good bachelor’s degree minimum of Second-Class Lower Division (2/2) in Quantity Surveying, plus NYSC Discharge Certificate with at least three (3) years post qualification experience or Master’s Degree in Quantity Surveyor from a recognized institution. Possession of a professional certificate is an added advantage.
  • HIGHER TECHNICAL OFFICER (CONTEDISS 07) (Surveying and Geo-informatics): Candidate must possess a Higher National Diploma at Credit Level in Surveying or relevant Discipline plus NYSC Discharge Certificate.
  • WORKS SUPERINTENDENT (CONTEDISS 06): Candidate must possess National Diploma in relevant field(s) of Electrical, Building, transportation and Horticulture from a recognized institution with three year work experience.
  • MOTOR DRIVER/MECHANIC I (CONTEDISS 04): Candidate must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate with relevant driver’s License, plus Trade Test Class I with at least Six (6) years post qualification cognate experience.
  • ARTISAN/CRAFTSMAN CADRE (CONTEDISS 03): Craftsman (Carpenter, Mason, plumber & Electrician) (CONTEDISS 03) Candidate must possess National Technical Certificate plus Government Trade Test Certificate Class III with at least Two (2) years post qualification cognate experience. NABTEB Ordinary Level Certificate in the relevant field
8. MEDICAL SERVICES
  • MEDICAL OFFICER (CONMESS 03): Candidate must possess M.B.B.S and registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, plus NYSC Discharge certificate.
  • PHARMACIST TECHNICIAN (CONHESS 06): Candidate who has completed the prescribed three (3) years training programme at the School of Health Technology and obtained the registration of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology for Technician cadre.
  • MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (CONHESS 05): Candidate must possess a National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least Three (3) years post qualification cognate experience.
